Hi! I’m Ashlyn, and it’s so nice to meet you!

I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a family of 8. I’m in the middle of all the kids, and also the oldest (we can get to that later). I met my husband, Davis, when we were juniors in high school and lived an hour and a half apart. We both graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. Since being married and graduating college in 2022, we moved to Japan for a year, and now live in Hawaii. Leaving the familiar has come with a lot of life changes all at once, both on a small and grand scale. God knew I needed help coping, so He showed me ways to do so healthily and with holiness. He directly led me to journaling, and I haven’t stopped since I started. I started out writing how I was feeling, which led to questioning, which led to documenting what I had learned, and has now led me here, to thelabl.co. And I’m so happy you’re here, too.
